ELDs and 100% live load/unload are NOT driver friendly circumstances. I drag a flatbed on Elogs, and there have been plenty of times when I've had to break my preferred sleep schedule to maintain delivery schedules. There have also been a few times where freight, hours of service, schedules, and hometime didn't sync up.

That said, I CHOSE to operate for a carrier that uses Elogs. AND I feel it should be exactly that, a CHOICE, either by the driver or the carrier. Elogs clearly and plainly do NOT work for all driver situations, just as the current Hours of Service regulations (which were clearly written specifically for drop and hook operations) do NOT work for all driving situations.

I've also heard there's a wire hooked up to that little machine that tends to accidentally get unhooked on a regular basis in many trucks. Hmmm, is this fact or fiction? :)

Is there any statistics which shows in how many accidents were involved trucks with E Logs and without E Logs? If there is no statistic proof that E Logs will decrease amount of accidents, then let's file collective lawsuit against it!! Here is lot's of us and we can do something against it!

You guys will still cheat on your hours by logging 'Off Duty' when you really are 'On Duty Not Driving'.

There is no device that automatically records driver's RODS, only those that monitor the truck. Duty Status still requires driver's input.

You vill komply vis zee mandate!
