Its only a BMW, no big loss. If it were an old muscle car, I'd be crying right now. Just glad no one got hurt. One lucky dude there.
Can you guess what's wrong with the BMW in this picture?

Although the beam seems to be riding fairly securely, it's obvious the BMW driver needs to add chains or straps.
c64basic, Mr Ed, not4hire and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes, but I'm not sure where to hook the chains on the BMW.
-
I don't think the BMW is rated to carry that much weight.
Mr Ed Thanks this. -
I hope none of you are builders because that is NOT a beam. I don't know what it is, but if you used that for structural integrity on anything more than a doll house your building wouldn't last long. Good thing everybody walked away. I guess the BMW guy had to though since he no longer had a vehicle. Then again, he didn't have much of one to begin with.

One of the reasons I quit doing local steel deliveries. The loaders didn't care how it was placed on the trailer, only that it was on the trailer. That led to some interesting securement at times.
P.S. That's no beam. It's a piece of formed sheet steel about 3/16" thick or less. I like how the author called it a tray in one sentence and a beam the next. Either way, some yuppie douche is driving his wife's Volvo wagon today.Last edited: Dec 13, 2015
harlycharly55 and Rock 'n Roll Relocater Thank this. -
Exactly.........you can see where it bent on the lower edge where it went through the windshield. I imagine some people viewing it on their phones might have a problem seeing how thin it is though but it is really clear on my computer screen.

But on the bright side he can now pick up every radio station in the western hemisphere.
