It would be the engine that makes it sell. Anything with a 3408, 12V71 or K19 gets the top $$$ if it's a show truck.

I could see it as an oversized load hauler where you expect to burn gobs of fuel anyways.

My 3408 grosses out close to 180,000 lb and there's hardly any difference between it and a late engine, the more you put on the less the difference.

And I'm betting she gets it too.

To the topic, the problem with putting the older trucks back into otr service is cost of operation. The old cummins just can't get the fuel mileage it takes to be competitive in todays market. And they ALWAYS need something mechanical to stay rolling.

I drove a '69 Pete that had air...not factory though. The first Transtar that I remember having factory air, I think was in 72-73. I had a new '76 that had factory air. Worked very well. I put 460,000 miles on it, and don't remember it not working.

I saw an old custom 359 Pete for sale, has a V12 Cat @800+ hp. The hood is stretched waaay out. Bet it burns lots of fuel

Drove an old ford l9000 winch truck. It had factory ac and to release the brakes it was a toggle switch not the the yellow push button. It had a cummins and no seatbelts. Never could make a call and be going down the road. I believe the truck is older than me but man did that thing pull some frac tanks out of some crazy places.
