The claim is too many "bad" decisions ... they claim one guy has been with the company for 15 years and never exoected him to do it. The guy was at Flying J in Williams, IA and drove into the ditch ... no excuses on that one but really I am not a Swift driver and have a clean record ( knock on wood ) so I shouldnt have to have a driver facing camera and mic ... I knows its all about covering their tails and has nothing to do with driver protection. If it was a mutual beneficial decision they would have simply had forward facing cameras with no mics.

So if there is a wreak they want to know what the driver was doing during the accident? I doubt they would want to spy on anyone. It's about money for sure.

Any contract entered into unknowingly, unwillingly, or implied is unenforceable and null and void according to common law.
E="Adegbuyi Adekunle, post: 4832618, member: 171740"]This is a question i have for anyone who has experience or knowledge about a situation like this. I applied to a training school and they told me i was approved to drive for a company. That is great and all, but the thing is they require a 14 month contract in return for pay for the school. I will be getting my licence in the next two weeks through the school, and i'm expected to be at the companies' orientation the following monday after getting my licence. I haven't signed any contract yet with the company. My question is; if i find another trucking company with better pay and benefits willing to hire recent grads, and also tuition reimbursement can i break the implied arrangement i have with this current without them dumping the whole cost on me at once?[/QUOTE]

Sorry but you have an obligation to finish with suburban or pay the money, the contract they have with you states that you will owe them unless there is a legit reason for it, you do not have one. Taking training to the last week is one of these things that just cement the deal.

What exactly do you think the implied part of this arrangement is? As I see it the only thing implied is if you complete training and hire on at Company X they will pay your tuition in return for 14 months of service.
If you complete training and go somewhere else, Company X will not pay your tuition. This will not relieve you of your obligation to pay the tuition, but you are in no way bound to Company X if not hired and no contract signed. -
I don't know anything about the contract at all I was simply telling the guy how the law works. It's up to him to decide if that law applies to his particular situation.

my bad I was applying to the trucking company that you are training for right now
