Why is it I can drive the whole length of I 25 in snowy White out conditions and never see a truck in the ditch. Versus I drive east into Nebraska with 2 inches of snow and count nine trucks in 5 miles in the ditch?

I even saw a swift truck headed north 25 on icy roads that wasn't in the ditch!

By the way, this is more of a rhetorical question. The answer is flatlanders.

Crap, thought the answer was white out conditions you couldn't see them... from a flatlander :)

I believe the crowd that do run i-25 is different than the one running i-80.

Last night I literally was driving south out of I 25 as they closed it. I then had to drive up 85, which they also closed behind me to pick up a load. I drove 25 miles an hour back out 85 busting Snow drifts with my truck. And I never saw a single semi in the ditch.

Busting drifts isn't the same as a whiteout. Not criticizing cuz I've done what you were doing, just saying whiteout is when you can't tell up from down, you get out of yer car and disappear because you can't find it again. It's been documented, doesn't happen very often

Well of COURSE they are! The I-80 drivers are east/west or west/east drivers! The I-25 drivers are north/south or south/north drivers! Ain't no mystery there.:D

I think how often it happens, really depends on where you are, and what kind of winter is going on. OBTW, ONCE is too often. . .

Yup, I draw the line at visibility. The rest doesn't matter if you can't see
