Best and Worst Truck Stop showers

Yup. They use truck names instead of numbers 'Peterbilt' and 'Kenworth' are the best but a $2 up charge. Well worth it. Hard to beat a rain shower head.

The one called 'Volvo' is roomy but has electrical issues and the 'Freightliner' door just leads into the shop where a mechanic will spray you with a hose.

 

Yes, but those ham and cheddar bakes are fantastic.
For sucky bad and super small I am going with the J in Pasco WA. Also that dump in Tracy that charges you to park and then charges for a shower with rags for towels.
Best is paying 34.99 -cdl rate- at Western Village in Sparks for a great room; next door to the TA. Shower, flat screen, king bed and no idle noise. Restaurants are much better than any TS and very reasonable.

 

That's just funny right there.

 

I bet the International shower has constant stopped up toilets and the Mack shower has the same electrical issues as the Volvo but not as roomy.

 

Would guess the Mack shower is plumbed in from the pressure washer at the truck wash, and the toilet paper is John Wayne style ( rough, tough, and doesn't take #### off anybody ), broken glass on the floor and one of those soft toilet seats that is cracked and pinches you in the ###. Lil rough around the edges but tough as hell and gets the job done

 

The Little America Flagstaff is very nice too.

Not so good - Broadway J, Ellensburg, WA. Not the worse by far but not good none-the-less. This one harkens back to the day when ALL showers were nasty, and often "shared access". Most newer drivers today don't know how good they have it in regards to typical shower facilities available today.

 

been to that one! They have not one but three (I believe ) shower heads and tvs in the bathroom!

 

T/A London OH I-70 west of Columbus just updated their showers and store.
a little story:

Taking a shower there the other day, 20 ish attendant very friendly("have a nice shower let me know if you need anything...) pumping up the customers for tips before Christmas.

I hear him greet another customer thru my shower door. Customer responds:
"I couldn't do your job, with all the slobs that come in here"
Attendant says, and I quote:
"It's not too bad. Not any worse than my job on the farm cleaning out pig stalls."

 

My first 'real' job when I was 15 was maintenance at a pilot. Part of that was scrubbing showers. I walked out when I found a corn studded poo in the middle of the floor.


I'd rather clean up after hogs.

 

I agree with Little America T/S in Flagstaff. The bad part is they want your license because some homeless guy paid for a shower and tried to use it as a motel room for a day.

For whatever reason anything near the oil fields Texas, North Dakota all get beat to crud and aren't cleaned properly.
