Fatal Crash Involving Box Truck And Semi Truck

    The driver of the box truck was killed in the crash.

    A stretch of Interstate 75 in Florida was closed after a fatal crash involving a box truck and tractor trailer on Tuesday morning.
    The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-75 in Hernando County.
    According to WFLA, a box truck suffered significant damage after rear-ending a semi trailer at mile marker 302. The 62-year-old driver of the box truck was fatally wounded in the crash.
    The northbound lanes were closed after the incident, but have since reopened. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.
    An investigation is currently underway by the Florida Highway Patrol.

    Where is the DOT bar on the trailer?! The box truck looks a little too far under the trailer, unless the box truck was going way too fast.

    I'm guessing it's either folded up under the trailer or lodged in the box truck's grill. The ICC bar isn't gonna do squat at that speed and certainly wouldnt help this driver's chances sitting above it to begin with. The driver smacked the doors of the trailer, he didn't underride it like a car would.

    Lotta fog through there this time of year. 75 can be very dangerous when that pea soup covers it. I wonder if that was a factor?

    Hopefully the cargo of wicker and rattan furniture weren't too badly damaged. That stuff can be pricey

    Isuzu? I'm guessing that was a cabover box truck. RIP, Driver. It's even worse at this time of the year.
