If I mount my antennas at a 45 where they are under 13'6 while stopped but are over when they straighten out going down the road is that legal?

Most places statutory height is 14'
-
Then If you get up on the New York Turnpike your antanaee will hit the overpasses if they're too tall.
(I don't know how to spell antanae, I let the autocorrect do it) -
Might be LEGAL, but unless you enjoy replacing antennas every weekend, wouldn't be a GOOD IDEA
-
I don't know if they will, but when you go into scales there are height detectors and these may break the beam and set them off. I don't think they will, but who knows
-
Meh. I run T-2000s or K-40s, and the whips at top are extremely tough! They might eventually bend after a lot of abuse, but I have yet to see or hear of one breaking.....
Plus, mine double as height poles when I'm pulling OSOW loads!
burnsey Thanks this. -
On the east side of the country. Max legal height is 13.6
My last truck was that high on antannaes. Worked great if your under low clearance. Saves from hitting the truck. -
them antennas will be self adjusting. just run'em like you want and when you get to something too low they will self adjust!
-
Is there such a thing as a roving LEO that goes around measuring antenna height while the truck is in motion? And for any actual height problem, upallnite has it pegged right.... they will self adjust in height!
-
What about tunnels with height sensors? You might trip one of those and get a ticket right?
