To be fair.. I was on a slick road in Pa and hydroplaned at 30 mph on what looked to me like just a wet road. Speed limit was 50. Car was turning in front of me.. I about pee'd my self trying stop and not hit her. Sick feeling when you apply the brakes and it instantly starts to slide. And I have newish virgin name brand tires all the way around.
But I agree. Looking at the location and area where that accident happened.. he was probably going too fast for the conditions.

I hear what you are saying. I've had a few situations with unexpected hydroplaning, usually when the road surface changes or there are ruts in the road and puddles start forming. You just have to be super alert in rain and constantly be scanning the road surface.harlycharly55 Thanks this.

No question about it, if you lose control it is because you are driving too fast for conditions! No excuses, no alibies, no whining.
If conditions suddenly go from dry pavement where 75 is "safe" to a black ice patch out of sight on a curve, and you lose it, you were driving too fast for conditions! How can there be any LEGITIMATE argument about that?????harlycharly55 Thanks this. -
Every day I see. Super Truckers speeding down the road less than 10 feet from someone's bumper trying to get them out of their way to continue speeding down the road! And you wonder why there are so many accidents? And extra few dollars are NOT worth killing yourself or someone else for! I'm thinking it probably is something to do with the 14 hour rule, but if you Can't or Won't adapt, get another job, don't risk LIVES!

Yes and here is an example of what your saying....
About 5 years ago my wife and I took off on our motorcycles for a few days. While cruising down I-81 in Virginia (Granny lane) we come up on a 4 wheeler doing about 68-69mph, I look in my mirror see one vehicle that is cruising pretty good so I wait. Car clears and I role out into the monfort lane with my wife right behind me, she is on a 04 Heritage Softail and I'm on a Custom I built with a 113 inch Ultima Elbruto do I'm not underpowered and neither is she. Cruise past the slower car and we are scooting along at 75mph when I signal and roll back into the granny lane, my wife is hammering right on past me which was unusual for her, then when I look in my left mirror here is white International Semi pushing her down the road... God as my witness he could not have seen nothing but her helmet, he was literally within 20 feet of my wife, she rolled past me trying to gain extra speed and get in the granny lane quickly, she was not use to that and it scared her. So now... The guy in the white Intefnational from Louisiana, you have no idea how much I would enjoy having you in arms reach!!! You SOB!Big Don, Lepton1, harlycharly55 and 1 other person Thank this. -
