Will be a great day when anarchy rules and truckers form their own vigilante groups to extract justice.
The gnashing of brokers and dot police teeth will be like music to our ear as
they plead for the same thing we do now.
Rates in the toilet?

You want to see what I booked out of Nashville today? 1 pick 1 drop dry van paying $3,000 on 565 loaded miles. I'll be glad to show it to you pm me your email. My 2015 is over and done with that one. Unless somebody has deep pockets again.
BrokerBob, you are welcome to call on my truck. You can laugh at my quotes. I hear it all. Laughter, yelling, cringing. It really doesn't matter as you guys are a dime a dozen. I treat every call with respect until I get disrespect over a simple rate quote. I don't care what you think about me or my rate. I don't need you when there are 10,000 more just like. Don't even need you in a down market. I only need what works for me. If that is few and far between then so be it.Highway Sailor, Lone Ranger 13, Long FLD and 9 others Thank this. -
I'm not going to sit here and tell you I score loads like that every day. But I do get many loads like that over the course of a year. I will tell you the same thing I told Skateboard pm me your email and I will show you the load. I have better things to do than make this #### up. I've had a down year and struggled like everyone else. One thing I haven't done consistently is work for cheap. I may not work much but I make it count when I do. And your advice to newbies is spot on. Most of them would get eat up and spit out alive on the spot market. Never going to see a load like. Hell there's guys been working it for 30 years that couldn't get a decent rate if it was slapping them upside the head.Oscar the KW, spyder7723, Not_Here_Long and 1 other person Thank this.

If it's a rate agreement, sure I would like to see it.

Showed a profit on the trucking side since 2005-2008, lost money in 2009 but back to the black from 2010 til Oct 2015 when I deactivated my authority. Now my dedicated shipping customers are now my brokerage customers.

I wouldn't laugh, yell, or anything like that at your quote. Not my style. I would simply tell you I couldn't do that rate and thank you for the call. I would then move on to the next caller. I don't take it personally. Too many trucks waiting in the wings. I see you drive for the internet famous farm to fleet of big bad bill fame.

I say Jolly gee thats only a 1.50 a mile no thank you
-
Yeah, what's that got to do with anything? I don't either but when I get some smart alleck broker I never forget. These are just numbers and it is not personal to me but they sometimes say things that make it that way.
See the screenshot. She called up talking real sweet. I didn't know if she was going to sell me a load or go on a date. She made a marginal offer and I told her up front I wasn't cutting any slack this week for anyone. She laughs and asks how much. Then she acted all insulted and told me that was stupid and she hoped I was happy sitting around with nothing.
What she doesn't realize is that, yes, in fact I am perfectly happy to do that when I don't get my number. And within 15 minutes of that I booked my Nashville load. And she, or someone in her office, had the nerve to call me back 3 more times. I didn't answer those calls. Now every time in the future when that number calls they better be sitting down if they need my truck. And they will never put a back haul on my truck. Yep I do back hauls but not for just anyone. See the one that says "smart *** broker". You see I program the good ones in there but the others get programmed in too.

Not_Here_Long and double yellow Thank this. -
Keep in mind that 75 percent of the brokers today are clueless about this industry. Case in point the dbags at TQL... There is a facebook freight brokers group that is entertaining, everyday there are multiple posts of how do I become a broker and how do I get shippers by people who think this is way to easy street... Also read that farm to fleet is having problems and big bad bill is having some serious health issues with his eyesight. Hope the man is able to get his vision fixed.

I hate TQL but the best rate I ever got was from them. It was a Navy load and the other truck never showed up. My truck was posted and they called almost immediately. He just launched right into it. Told me the truck didn't show up and this is the rate all in including their money. I was floored and took the load.
When I got to the shipper I got reamed out maybe 3 times for not showing up the day before and late today. I took it all and apologized.SheepDog Thanks this.
