    Thank you all for the great comments. Mystic would an enhanced drivers license work in place of the passport. I went that route here in NY just to go to Canada to eat and works in my regular car. Don't know about a CMV. Yes you are right I will be in Syracuse NY and I look forward to it.

    Next it's been a week since I have put in my application. I have not heard anything from the company yet so I decided to drop the recruiter an email this morning. She got back to me this afternoon and stated that I have a spot reserved for Feb 1st at school and that she would get back to me in mid January with more information. So on hold for now, but going to put my notice in at work for my retirement date.

    Not sure on all the detail of what is required to cross into Canada - never a desire to od it on my part - there are few on here who do they may chime in on the requirements.

    Regardless focus on school first, then your mentor training. Once you get to Syracuse you can find out what you need.

    Since she got back to you (on the same day, I might add) and told you something positive, you are not on hold.
    But shoot her another e-mail if you don't here from her by around the 18th. She has a lot going on, you don't want to be overlooked.

    Remember that you will be getting a new license so wonder if you can transfer the enhanced part to the new one. I can tell you that as far as getting what you need to get into Canada, like the FAST card Swift pays for all of that. Have a great holiday
