To dodge a pan handler

Well G.U.N. for waving the flag that is your user pic, you sure are telling people what to do with there money..... dont tred on me.

 

A lot of them do. They are called lobbyists.

 

I ask myself the following questions when approached:

1. How did this person get here? If you are begging for $$ at a truck stop because you ran out of gas, that's a red flag. If you are at a gas station across from the mall with your kid and can't find your purse, I'll throw part of my last $5 in your tank. @Kev's Sunshine and I did that on Mother's Day, the Universe rewarded us with double helpings at Long John Silvers.
2. If you are offering to mail me the $, red flag.
3. If even the little bittiest part of my spidey-sense tingles that you or your flunkie might go for my wallet, you get the "I just got plastic," answer.
4. If I've heard the same story before, you're a gypsy and get the plastic answer.

Basically, I'm a Scrooge. I hate it, but if God calls me to help I'll answer. Otherwise, the decision is mine.

 

Just offer food, or a drink that isn't alcoholic.

The scammers will never accept. They just want money.

 

im not telling people what to do. Im judging who i consider to be selfish and heartless people. The Gadsden Flag is a revolutionary battle flag for patriots and small government/libertarian-leaning people. This is a discussion about helping the homeless and im giving my opinions. You couldnt have picked two more unrelated topics if you tried. You can do whatever the hell you want. Thats your right. And i can judge you all day long, thats my 1st amendment right. Just to note i obviously wasnt talking about people who offer food, just the ones who offer nothing or worse beat a man while he is down and #### with him in the process.

I read them all. A lot of assumptions and unscientific anecdotal evidence.

 

I don't need science. When I lived in a poor neighborhood I saw it first hand. People I knew from the neighborhood lyeing and begging when they had a home and food stamps. Saw the same people buying stuff at the liquor store with their cup of change......

 

guess you're reading entirely different posts then what I am.I do my part not just now but all year round.I gave plenty of donations.you obviously don't see it but many of these people looking for money to support there habits and you're helping them.a couple dollars here and there is not going to better the homeless but a hot meal and shower just might.unfortunately they don't want that.

 

I've given Money to one homeless person. He said I don't want your money I want a job if you know anywhere hiring. Normally I'll say sucks to suck or get a job.
