The trucks ecm recorded my max speed ever was 74.8mph, the safety guy even said that it wasn't right. I'm not against having an outward facing camera, i have one of my own, i sit like the inward facing camera
Trucker61016 and X-Country Thank this. -
I'll be willing to bet that, just like an e-log system, someone in the office can turn the camera on at will if they feel like doing it. Even where I'm at now, while we don't have e-logs, we have a GPS system, and the office is "pinging" us all day to see where we are.
I stand by my feelings on the matter. Forward and outside facing cameras I have no problem with. Inside facing ones I do have a problem with.
I digress though. I'm sure that the day will come that every carrier, large and small, will have them and the only way to avoid them will be to leave the industry. I doubt I'll be able to do that so most likely, at some point, I'll have to just "suck it up" and drive with one.Trucker61016, X-Country, EatYourVeggies and 4 others Thank this. -
Yes my friend, the day draws near. And no, nothing in this industry is certain, I just can't imagine someone having the time (or inclination) to wanna watch some line haul driver talk on the phone for 3-4 hours on their run. Because when I hit that certain bump or hard hook or otherwise trip the camera, I ALWAYS have some wise comment for the audience. To date I have had no rebuttal. Be safe.

Friend drives for Werner, and they stuck a driver facing camera in his truck last month.
