That is heartbreaking to find out about... sickening, in fact... but I really think it is the exception... The comradery that I have experienced from my other brother (and sister) drivers is by far my favorite thing about trucking. I've had a driver RUN across a lot, in the dark, in the RAIN!, to help me back in to the last available slot in the truck stop. (Wish I knew his name to give him a shout out here)... Not to "congratulate myself" but I've stoped to help a flatbeder gather his cargo off of the highway and get it straped back down and tarped, before he got into any trouble... ... A lady in a car stoped to help also... As it turned out, her father had been a trucker, and she just wanted to help the driver. There is a lady that works in the "store" at the TA in (I think it was) Indiana that thanked me for "my service", and went on to say that drivers were (in a certain way) similar to the military. (Respect to those in the military, of course).(Think of what would happen to this country if we all stopped running for even a few days).,,, I've had a DOT officer in a chicken coop (after an inspection that showed that I was on point with my equipment/paperwork) thank me for "doing what you do"...
I did not plan to write all of this, but apparently it needed to be said. I have always been impressed by the integrity of the people that I have met out on the road. It seems as if within this culture surrounding the OTR driver there is a mutual respect that exists that is conspicuously absent in other walks of life. (I myself, having long hair and appearing to be a "scary biker", have not always received that respect from some less learned than others). Like the frontiersmen of the past, maybe when we are so far away from home, and so far removed from what some would call "civilized society", we realize we actually do need each other.

LoL... Or maybe I've just had too much time to think .

At any rate, I would like to thank all of the other drivers and the people who make it their business to support us... thank you "For your service".

That driver will be on here after he gets out of prison asking if any companies will hire him. I'd wager @Chinatown won't even mention Carolina Cargo to him.

They should add carjacking and grand theft auto to the list of charges.

I'll bet you that China will be the first in line to help with a trucking job and tell him "You can make $800 a week with Carolina Cargo"!!
