Colorado had the chain up requirement between Dove Creek and Cortez. Today I am a man! :)

They made you chain on the flatlands? Must be nasty down there

Bah, I have chained 6 times so far this winter, doubtless I will do it another dozen or more before the season is through, but such is life in Alaska.

    Congratulations, btw!

Roads were a little icy past Monticello then completely covered past the state line. I guess the Colorado plow crews slept in. Saw two jackknife wrecks and didn't feel like joining the party.

Ha ha ha! Wasn't too bad now was it? Do it a few times and it'll be nothing. You'll get your own way and it'll go quick and painless. Welcome to the chain club!

I think not bad for an El Paso boy.

No doubt, surprising it took so long for it to happen. I would have guessed you to be an old hand at it by now.;)

I had no practice whatsoever but I'm the type who learns by doing.

Took me about an hour to put them on. Only required one drive axle but I figured I'd practice putting both drive axles on. I initially tried putting the trailer chains on but one came off after I tested them so I decided I would just run the drive axles.

I got dirty. My fingers nearly got frostbite and I have a cough but I feel accomplished.

I like running the northwest so getting used to chaining is probably not a bad idea.

    dclerici1 and joseph1135 Thank this.
