I am looking to put together a small toolset to keep in my sleeper compartment.
I was thinking
1/4"-1" combination wrenches
3/8" socket set 1/4"-1"
Assortment of screw drivers
Allen wrench set
Hammer
Pliers
Vise grips
Crescent wrench
Electrical tape
Zip ties
Air line unions
Does this seem like a good start or anything else I should add?

Don't forget duct tape , bulbs , and fuses. Not exactly all "tools" , but they are emergency essentials.

That about covers it.also when youre in the shop getting stuff for your trk get a handfull of rubber seals and extra lites for trk and trailer..I always liked to be fully prepared.

Also flashlite you can buy an led lite the size of an ink pen and they work great.

What kind of truck and engine? A lot of things are metric even on American trucks.SingingWolf Thanks this.

I'd also get some hose clamps, spare hose sections, 1 4x4" piece of rubber, and fuse pliers, wire strippers and connectors. And if you can parts to cage an air brake. Not all brakes have the key and washers

I imagine whatever socket set I buy will likely include metrics as well. I was planning on buying one of those $100 socket set kits from Home Depot or lowes and then a combo wrench set which probably will have metrics also. -
Ok, I don't know about petes. But you are best getting metric and standard like you plan, your orginal post just mentioned the standard.

The most useful tool I had when OTR was a fifth wheel puller. More versatile than a Swiss Army knife.
