You can't go to jail. But he COULD put that on your DAC record, and when you apply at different companies it will be hard getting a good carrier to hire you.
What really happened that and what situation are you really in?

No he doesn't use dac because before I started he said a guy left his truck at police station and he couldn't
do anything about it. He wanted me abandon this guy truck who I was working for at time.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I can't text too goo
-
Your last sentence isn't making since who wanted you to do what?
-
Well then apparently he's OK with the concept of abandoning equipment. You should know better though, as it is not the right thing to do. Maybe you will learn that him wanting you to abandon a truck was a red flag that you shouldn't have taken the job.NavigatorWife, not4hire and pattyj Thank this.

He can report it stolen if he hasn't already and Bill you for any type of recovery needed to get it back to him. Even thought court fees could be more then what is owed he can also bill you for the court fees and or attorney fees.NavigatorWife and pattyj Thank this.
-
are you sure he cant report the truck stolen ??
-
Of course he is going to threaten you with anything he can think of. He just wants his equipment back. From what you have shared this is a civil matter not criminal. Put yourself in his shoes, you have his truck trailer and maybe a load on. He is responsible for EVERYTHING and your speeding down the road in his equipment and going to abandon it somewhere.
Im very sorry your family is in the hospital ,but take a second and call the man and agree on a SAFE location to leave his equipment. That bridge is burnt. End of Story. Move on.NavigatorWife, Flipflops, Sneakerfix and 2 others Thank this. -
Yes he can report it stolen since technically it is if he didn't okay the transfer of his truck and trailer to your location it's stolen. Is the trailer loaded? if it is you'll have even more issues. Your best bet is to return it to a drop yard or to the yard and bus it back home. You don't want this on your record that will kill any hope of having a job again.NavigatorWife, Cgnjme and pattyj Thank this.

You better take the advice here otherwise you could be in a mess of trouble
NavigatorWife Thanks this.
