You know what, Be happy you got that car. Lotta guys Love em, And cant find them.
The truck will speak for itself, (Better resale than a raised roof, Prestigious and classy, You'll get more lookers than a high top)G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Trust me I am very happy. I just can't figure out how to store all my stuff

You only take what you need.
You can put up a bar across foot of bed to hang clothes or build a shelf unit.
Lean the passenger seat forward, you can hang clothes off the back.
Duffel bag goes on the bed, when nap time in the seat.
Use window shades or towels to block the windows, makes it easier to get dressed.Al. Roper and mickcuster Thank this. -
That's a 48" flat top not a 36. The 36 has the bed right behind the seat. No closet at all. I have a 48" also and I like it just fine. I don't have any pictures, right now, but I have a 12v cooler behind the passenger seat, and I hang up stuff behind the drivers seat, in the closet. My clothes go under the bed, and food gets stored in the cubbie holes above the closets. I have some ideas for a shelf above the bed on the passenger side, but haven't completely figured out how to mount it exactly yet. I am usually home every weekend so I only take enough stuff(clothes, food) for a week at a time.I installed an espar heater in the side box on the passenger side and that thing will roast you out of there. If you just sit in there and look around, you will think of things you can do to make better use of the space you do have. Consider some of those stackable drawer units by rubbermaid in one of the closets for more storage of small things. I guess I should ask, what is it you are having trouble fitting in? If it isn't your truck, the owner may not want you drilling holes, but there are quite a few screws accessable which can be used to mount things without drilling new holes.
G13Tomcat and dirthaller Thank this. -
It's not my truck but when I was in it yesterday I didn't see a closet or any shelves. Maybe I'll have to take another look but was just trying to get a feel of what I could fit. I did submarines for a while so I'm sure I'll find a way but thought many o/o have already mastered the science

That is a 48" bunk you got there. Plenty of room. I ran long haul in a 36" for years and finally moved up in the world to a 48". Me and the wife have made a few long trips together. But I wouldn't want to do it every day.
I always laugh at guys that tell me they need that big bunk. I travel light and fast. If its not needed its not riding around with me. Keep my printer and road bags on the floor under the bunk.
One 100# toolbox, another 20# wiring box, gallon of diesel, howes, oil, antifreeze, washer in the right door.
In the left door there is enough filters and parts to fix most of the truck. Spare u joint, airbag, wheel nuts/studs. Plus all the winter flatbed gear.Al. Roper, stayinback and mickcuster Thank this. -
You beat me to it. My 36" 359 sleeper has shelves built in above your feet on the right side. It is just aluminum angle iron screwed to the braces in the front and back wall. And a piece of stained plywood sitting on top. 2" raised piece of wood on the edge to keep stuff from rattling out.
I hate the closets in my 48" The little cubbie hole on top is good for nothing. Ive been going to knock them out and build the same wood shelves along the right hand wall.mickcuster Thanks this. -
Thanks for the information and tips.

With a 36" the usual morning ritual goes like this.
Look out to see if anyone is looking.
Pull one pant leg on.
Look again to see if anyone is looking.
Pull the other one on.
Peak around one last time.
Halfway stand up with your head in the bunk and your ars in the cab and jump up and down till your pants are on or the shaking truck draws attention to yourself. Repeat as needed.mickcuster, 59EX, GO BOT TRUCK and 1 other person Thank this.
