As others have said already, there's a lot more to the WHOLE story.
Why are you jumping from one fly by night owner operator to another instead of going to work for a company? I know my company would have had you on a plane home if they didn't just tell you to deadhead home and there are many other companies that do the same.
Like others have said, there's a whole lot more to this story like the reason why you can't or won't go to work for an actual company. Bad history, no experience, skeleton in the closet?
I can understand family emergencies but when you accepted this job you entered into an agreement with the truck owner. Your not holding up your end of the agreement and I understand the owner being upset. You obviously have only worked for him a very short time, he has no history with you so he has no obligation to get you home. I suspect you didn't try to work out a resolution but rather heard what you wanted to hear and went home anyway.
Honestly if I were the truck owner family emergency or not I'd report the truck stolen and report an abandonment to DAC and any future employer calling for reference.
Best of luck, hope your family is okay but it's time you look at a different career path.TripleSix, Mudguppy and passingthru69 Thank this. -

I would bet a dollar to a donut the OP is the problem and not the employers....

And like the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
I fail to see where I mentioned the word "big", I said a company not a "big" company. I work for a company that is now 200 trucks but when I started here we had 50 and prior to that they ran about 25 but nonetheless they would have made sure a "good" driver got home for an emergency whether by truck or plane, rental car etc.
Just a few weeks after I started here I was managing the local terminal while the manager was out of town for training. One of our drivers who was on his first trip got a call that morning his grandmother had passed, I had him unhook from his load and bobtail 450 miles home. Yes the company lost money on that incident but still have that driver working here. A single or 2-3 truck owner operator can't afford to just send you home and leave the truck sitting.
So you don't want to work for a company for whatever reason (I suspect can't) but no matter, your going to have to live with this type of treatment. Not every O/O will be this way but likely the ones who will even consider hiring you will.NavigatorWife, Mudguppy and Cgnjme Thank this. -

When have you ever been in a condition to drive OTR?ramblingman, Lepton1 and Sneakerfix Thank this. -
I guess you didnt read the entire thread, the speeding violations the OP is talking about were reported by the qualcom or gps system to the owner op. Like overspeed warnings or whatever.
