They are generally pretty good about getting stuff done, I just had a crappy APU that was always going out, they changed it out twice before they got one to actually work right.

The cruise thing worked for me until my computer went haywire and F/Liner had to flash it recently

I recently had my apu go down and the cruise would not work like before
    but I found a fix

Idle your truck until the stop engine lights come on, set the cruise when the stop lights are flashing
(that's all I had to do b4 and it would idle all night)
once I set the cruise it will idle until the stop lights come on again
when then stop lights come on a 2nd time, all I did was very lightly tap the accelerator not even enough to increase the rpms but enough to make the stop engine lights go away
by doing this my truck idled all night down in Louisiana so I could run the a/c

this worked in my 2014 lt wt F/Liner

Or go work for a company who values their drivers more than a few gallons of fuel....your life isn't worth 15.76 to them in diesel. :)

the peterbilt they put me in had no anti-idle nonsense.. I idled whenever my APU was dead (frequently) or when it around 15 degrees F or below. not sure if i was supposed to or not but i figured better safe then sorry/better ask forgiveness than permission.

I was company for years I never had a problem. The bunk heaters are pretty reliable I've never had one break and leave me cold in the winter, nor have I ever known of prime making a cheap/faulty repair to a bunk heater. They draw very little power so even if the apu goes down the bunk heater can still run all night provided your batteries are good, if they aren't get them load tested at a t/a and prime will change them. The bunk heater lines will be the first to gel up followed by the apu then the truck. So make sure you treat your fuel never trust the truckstop to do it. I've stayed the night in minus 25º temps several times had no problem with fuel gelling as long I did my part and treated the fuel which Prime will pay for. If the bunk heater does go down call a cab and get a room which prime will also pay for. I don't see why some of you are making such a fuss over it.

Apu's are the way to go. I just got a 2016 freightshaker Cascadia Christmas eve with a apu/ inverter. Runs everything. Snug as a bug in a rug.love it!

Cause they don't know about how Prime will take care of you in cases when you APU may go out. Also had the APU go out in Phoenix during the summer, 100+ heat, parked the truck and went into a hotel. No problems from Prime or FM. I had a really crappy ringmaster APU LOL.

All the safety meeting sunshine is no match for reality. What if there is no motel around for 100 miles, or its the third time out of the shop and the issue isn't fixed. If the truck would idle we wouldn't be getting the shaft and wasting a bunch of time for something so trivial. But no, idling the truck might waste some fuel, and it isn't their problem, its the drivers problem.

might try stepping on the foot brake pedal when the idle shut down light is on.. takes about 5 minutes if your truck is set to idle for 5 or so
