6 ton bridge and loaded semi don't mix

I have the greatest respect for the Amish.in fact I got a recipe from an Amish lady for potatoe salad i like theirs better then mine.I find them interesting people but don't they know the basics like we do?

 

that's true,they re very smart but maybe they feel their women don't need to know since the men are the providers.

 

It's a two way street far as accidents.drivers are to blame for not speaking up if they feel they re not ready to go solo and companies are to blame for poor training .Fmcsa is to blame for not putting stricter reqiuirements on training.

 

Who cares what she was taught in grade 5 or while growing up in the Amish community.

She is (was?) a so called professional truck driver. She has seen signs before with weight limits listed by ton. If she didn't know how much that was she should have found out. Willful ignorance is the only reason for her to not know it.

I suspect she did know but chose to play dumb when asked why she would ignore the weight limit.

Except, she clearly didn't panic. If you read the article she's quoted as saying she just decided to "chance" it.

Just read another update on this whole fiasco. Turns out that in addition to the 3 traffic infraction she will also be charged with reckless driving, a misdemeanor, which can carry penalties up to $1000 in fines and 180 days in jail.

 

Well, she is probably off the roads for awhile.

 

One would hope.

 

I expected this topic to show up on here. I was back home visiting my parents when this came on the news. The picture of my bike is SR 37 where it meets I-64 in Indiana. Nice to see other members on here from the area. This event isn't doing much for this ladies future employment.
