I just heard that people are hauling cars from Miami to Orlando for $50 is this true? What are the rates hauling a car from Miami to Jacksonville? I was going to get a sun country 5 car trailer and tractor but after hearing this I wouldn't be able to afford the setup. I'm thinking now to get a drop deck or step deck trailer so I can haul sprinter vans conversion vans and duallys do they at least pay a little better in Florida?

You would be better doing long runs and bringing stuff back into FL cars coming out of FL and within FL don't pay much at all. Going into FL pays better..
And sprinter vans may pay a little more but are heavy so you have the extra fuel to account for.

Yup Florida sucks man. I know several Fl guys and the way they make money is to leave the state, be gone for a while chasing the money and return home when they get tired.

I'm looking at it like this, if they are getting $150-200 to go from Miami to Jacksonville with cars my thinking is that they will be paying at least $275-350 for sprinter vans and duallys, which it will be a 350 mile trip, then get something coming put of Jacksonville to Orlando or Tampa drop off then get something out of Tampa heading to ft myers or Naples then make it back to ft Lauderdale miami. I think I'm going to go with a drop deck or step trailer, maybe I could haul a tractor or something too. I just can't believe how cheap people move cars down here for. But I should have known because I drive gasoline tankers here and the rates and pay ducks compared to other states. What do u think about a drop or step trailer instead of a car carrier trailer? Will the insurance b a little cheaper at least?

When you find out how to make any real money by just staying in the state of Florida let me know. Been hauling cars since 09 and have yet to figure it out. If you wanna stay local I suggest moving or lower your standards to live in a 20' camper in some ####ty mobile home park.
