Oh Boy. I'm going to try and break this up here.
I'll admit that National has a unique way of doing orientation. What I didn't see any of is this blame the driver speak that you are talking about. They are just like any other company and ask that you, as a professional driver, plan your time and know whether or not you can get a load in on time.

You knew the truck was governed at 65 before you accepted the job, right? The trucks are not turned down. The T680's have 455hp PACCAR MX's in them and they pull just fine...at least the 2 that I have had with them did/do.

I haven't had any problems with loads. My dm does everything in his power to help me out and make sure that I have what I need to do my job.

This is pure BS right here. I always get home a day or 2 early...never late. On Dec. 2nd, I put in to be off on Christmas. Since then, I have run 5,300 miles. And you shouldn't be treated differently than anybody else. Do you think you are somehow better than people coming out of orientation? The majority of the time, I have a preplan waiting on me when I deliver my load. What it sounds like to me is that you jacked your jaw one too many times to the wrong people and pissed them off.

It says right in the manual (and was explained over and over again) that you accrue 1 day off for every 6 days out up to a maximum of 4 days. I just finished a 34 restart in the middle of the load that I'm hauling. The difference is that I had the time on the load to do it. If I didn't, they would have simply repowered the load and let me take it. It makes no sense to only drive 1 or 2 hours a day. You can't get anywhere doing it that way. Now if you were only 100 miles away from final and decided that you wanted to take a restart and therefore making the load late...then yeah, I'd make you run it in too.

See I'm not regional. I'm 48 states because I was told in orientation that they could only guarantee me up to 2200 miles a week being regional. Now, I average close to 2800 miles a week. I don't know your situation, but I know for a fact that your experience with National is 95% opposite of my experience. They have their quirks, but every company does...and driver, there are gonna be ####y ##### at every job you go to. If you just shut up, keep your head down, and run your loads, they'll see that and appreciate it. They already have 650 other drivers that can't get their loads there on time, but yet think that they are somehow God's gift to trucking. Be one of the other Fifty that keeps the company running, and I promise that the good loads will come. I say this because I'm finishing an Idaho-Florida run tomorrow. Now, maybe I'm one of their favorite pet drivers, but I like to think that it's because they reward me for doing my job better than the next guy. I assume you have already quit, but if you haven't, I suggest you talk to Al or Lex and see about getting a new dm.

I never had problems getting home and if needed I usually do a 34 on the weekend. Dude maybe u thought u were entitled to certain treatment since u been here 12 mos. why be treated so bad so long.. Now the 4day maximum for home time is true anything over 4days they prefer the truck not be sitting in your yard for more than a week. They want u to bring it to the yard and they'll still bus u home, ON their expense so dude ur full of crap. I'm certain is a lot more to this fabricated tale than we'll ever know
