I think along the same lines I'm tired of people making money off my efforts and then making like they discovered something.
My personal profit gauge is "if I can afford to buy something that isn't truck related"
This year that's been a lot fewer and farther between than before.

One benefit is the spreadsheet will save recurring expenses month to month. Ie , trl pmt, ezpass, trk pmt, etc. No rentry required.
Another benefit is pro level documents.
Years ago i was on this site panning PG's. Its just excel, right.... i was wrong. 3rd year with it, and back office accounting expenses total 240 for kr pg, and 110 for turbo tax.

Don't over think it. You just need something simple and accurate. Excel is extremely powerful. If you don't have Excel, open office is a free open source program that will work just fine. Tons of YouTube videos and Kahn Academy can help you figure it out. It was a different time and computing power was extremely expensive, but I used trailer cards and Lotus until we had 100 trucks.

Do you send your book keeper your miles and gallons of fuel purchased? More importantly do you read understand and make decisions based on the information? Aim at nothing and you'll hit it every time.

Based on the work I did this week it would take about 8 minutes.

I think you may want to look at truckn pro. I have been pleased with it. It has multiple truck ability and the report function works nicely. I can run a trip report for each trip. I will do this on a new trip. Most of my work is usually to various locations with a good bit of repetition.
I usually will run a p&l report at the end of each week.
