I want to make enough money to buy a house in the near future and build financial security. I should be done with school in February. If all goes good and I like trucking, what is the best path to making money. Build good credit and pay down on a truck? Or lease through a company? I plan to drive company for at least the first year. I'm writing out a five year plan and I need some help

Don't buy or lease a trk. until you have at least 5 years in.Run the numbers on the costs of your company trk. the whole time..
Then you will see you won't get rich in a hurry if ever.
Good luck in paying off a decent house in 5 years

Best way to make a million in trucking is to start out with 2 million.

First things first: Are you single or married? If you are married, you can't do any planning without the wife on board. If the wife's on board, work on a budget, talk about your schooling and career choice.

Now, if she's n board, and she helps you and supports you, and sacrifices her time and resources, don't you ever, EVER leave her as she's a gold mine. Leaving a good woman voids your ManCard. What's the point of having money if you lose the ManCard?

Beside triple six I see you got a bunch of negative answers.

Truth is trucking is not a get rich quick scam. Can good money be made? Heck yes. Will you make good money your first few years? NO.

Now if you have a little business background and understand the true meaning of capital, operating expense or overhead. Can afford to invest the money it takes to turn a profit, then good money can still be made in trucking. First key is to stop listening to those that say it can't be done because THEY failed and find those that have done it.

Is there a "blueprint"? Not really, a little luck (no major repairs) some hard work and sacrifice, and a bit of capital and a monkey could make good money in trucking AND have a life.

I wish you the best sir and don't let anyone tell you that you are dreaming.

lol. I'm not married. I'm just tired of living check to check. I'm 30 making 30k a year for the past 7 years doing hardcore commission based sales. I can pay my bills on 30k right now but can't save a dime. 40-50k would at least allow me to save a little

I wasn't telling him there was no money. Just not going to get rich quick. The reason I stated running a company truck and track costs is it will show them some of the money going out and in every month
