Don't pay any attention to that comment. Some people seem to take exception to other people not living the life they lead.

There are thousands of people who choose not to live in an apartment or house. They are full time truckers, RVers and boat liveaboards. I suspect he knows this, but just wanted to find a way to put you down.

I gave up my apartment when I started.
It worked for me because I mooched off my girlfriend and stored my crap in her closet and stayed there on home time.

Living rent free was great but somehow I'm the one paying for both cars, phones, apartment, and bills now. Where did I go wrong? Lol

 

This tells me that you and others who do this are broke with no other options....

My plan was to do the same when I became a company driver.

I did it, and I'm still doing it. My expenses are rock bottom compared to most.

 

What do you call a place you sleep in six out of seven days a week? Better question would have been hotelless. I save better than 60% of my net and just bought a brand new F-150 that doesn't dent my savings significantly.I'm fulltime living without a house. Got a mailbox near my terminal.New vehicle was critical because car problems on home(less) time would be a crippler. In one year I'm 5 years closer to retirement.
