Sounds like the problem is with the radio itself. I tape the antenna connector to the radio(real bad design, or real bad manufacture) and it prevents a lot of the no signal/bad antenna messages.

I put the antenna it came with on the drivers side bolt to the sun visor on a metal plate that I made and worked great

I am not a trucker but I use an antennae on my Goldwing made for truckers:
"Pane-Pacific SIRIUS XM Interoperable Satellite Radio Truck Antenna". I bought it off Amazon, bolted it onto the am/fm antennae, ran the wires under my seat to my Sirius radio and it works great! I hope this helps. -
I have the same radio as well, and also get the same messages on the screen. (defective or damaged antenna, no signal messages) I've had other radios in the past, and never had a problem with those. I have tried everything you posted as well. I think its this model receiver itself. I think its time to write this one off and get another. Thanks for starting this thread, I think it proves what I thought all along, its a piece of junk.
