Old and worn clothes is one thing. Filthy crusty sweatpants and 300#s of excess blubber is a whole another thing. I have no patience for fat ### slobs. I have zero respect for dirty fat #####.
Why do 80% of drivers dress like bums?

Van drivers = nasty
Flat bed drivers = awesome and cute
How do tanker drivers rank in your world??rachi Thanks this. -
What about dump trailers and walking floors?
-
It never ceases to amaze me how people complain about those who think truckers are pigs and consequently do things like deny access to restrooms, and claim to relish just the sort of behavior that got them that label in the first place.
One thing is for certain. If or when I ever have need for a trucker's services, he or WILL have a professional, business-like appearance like they're there to do a job, or they will be told to hit the bricks.
It's about time we started policing our own. This is getting out of hand, and I for one am sick of having my own reputation tarnished because of the lowlives that have obvious aversions to bathing.TripleSix, Bob Dobalina, Slowpoke KW and 3 others Thank this. -
Wrong.

I pull a box and do so WITH the self-respect that some lack.rachi, scottlav46 and Captain Zoom Thank this. -
But I was just asking @Space Boogie to rank tankers since he thought flatbedders looked so awesome.
Me, I pull a dry Van, I usually dress neat, in the summer if I don't have to deal with a customer it's sandal time.scottlav46 Thanks this. -
When on the road driving from point a to point b I usually wear sweat pants/shorts and t-shirt or sweat shirt (depending on weather) and hiking boots. When interacting with shippers/consignees I wear a company shirt (t-shirt or button down depending on season/weather) and jeans/carhart pants.
I don't see the sense in not being as comfortable as possible while driving, I think it enhances my concentration on the task at hand (driving safely) and allows me to drive longer without a break.
I am always clean and sanitary as are my clothes, there is no excuse to be dirty/smelly in most cases. If you just finished tarping a load (or similar physical activity) .in 90 degree heat I can imagine you might have an excuse for being wither or both but in normal driving circumstances I just don't see it.
It is a simple case of self respect and hygiene, I spent years on a submarine and learned how many bad things can happen to your health if you don't stay clean. I don't pretend to be the smallest person in the world but definitely do not consider myself a fat slob, and would probably physically object if you called me that.Cheeseburgers Thanks this. -
When I roll out of mine I'm so hung over I don't give a #### what I look like......
