When anti gun people start talking "common sense", it's clear that they don't understand how guns work, or the first thing about common sense.

Hhmmm...how did a question about carrying a gun get hijacked into an arguement about airplane cabin pressure? As for the OP's question...he could carry because he weighed the pros and cons and decided it's worth any risk he may encounter. If I didn't go to Canada on a pretty regular basis, I'd carry. In 23 years, I've never had my truck searched, and I've never been even asked if I was carrying, except at the border. To use a cliche, "It is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6". My humble opinion is that a legal citizen of sound mind should be able to carry whatever they want, wherever they want. Our founding fathers did not write the second amendment to give us the right to bear arms. They wrote it to affirm that God had already given us that right at birth and govt can't change it.

Same here brother, I've been driving trucks sense '87 and never had my truck searched, been stopped a few time, and twice I've had a police officer ask me if I had a firearm, once in Texas, and once in Wyoming, asked where it was and to please leave it there, just baffles me how some want to say it is, and have no evidence to back their claim, I've even just recently received an email from Nevads Highway Patrol Commercial devision saying the same thing, so to end? Anyone wanting to believe it's illegal? I guess that's their right, I just know the truth

How often y'all run across metal detectors, like at shipper/receiver, dc's, company headquaters, terminals, etc. ? Truckstops ?

I would think that the truck and trailer would set of a metal detector a lot quicker than a handgun

Not once in my 13 years have I seen a metal detector any where. Except an airport. Most places you see those detectors. They are for the product theft devices that many places use.

    SPLACK and MrEd Thank this.

I've delivered at a few airports, although it been many years, they had a back entrance and no metal detectors, they didn't even search or ask about much

It's called FearMongering. It's where the cowardly attempt to hide their cowardice. The industry is chocked full of them.
