Please I have some questions and I will appreciate any help. Thank you.

I do not know anything about the trucking industry. I am just beginning my research and I found this website. I have two trucks which are managed by my driver but he is not doing a good job. I want lease these trucks to a company who can manage them. I just want to lease the trucks to a company and leasing company will pay me an agreed upon amount monthly. I will have nothing to do with driving the truck or hiring a driver to drive the truck. Is that possible? Are there companies that will lease trucks from me? Do you know how much I get paid monthly?

I called Pam trucking and they said, they don't have any program like that. Can you direct me to some companies who do that ?

Thanks for your help in advance. I am sorry if I am asking a stupid question.

I just have to ask one thing ..... How in the world did you get yourself into this situation?

Did you wake up Christmas morning and Santa left 2 trucks under the tree ?
How does one get 2 trucks and not have clue about trucking ?

I agree man, this is confusing. And from what he said it sounds like he's ignorant, not even a troll which is what I first suspected.

If you own trucks, there is going to be a level of management required, no matter what you do in terms of leasing them to a carrier.

As the owner, you are the person who pays the person driving the truck and many of the taxes associated with trucking and being an employer. Your employee will have to be approved by the carrier, but aside from that, you will be responsible for all payroll and truck costs of operations. The carrier will pay many things on your behalf then deduct from your settlement, but not everything.

Best option is to sell them to the best offer.

At my last company, the founders son took over. He had been around trucking all his life, worked for a company with 2000 trucks, and still had no clue. And he was worse than the OP. At least the OP knows and admits he is clueless.

Egad.... ditto... how did you end up owning two trucks and knowing nothing about trucking???
FWIW, you would probably make the most money by selling those trucks immediately, if not sooner.

You would be amazed at how many trucking companies are owned and operated by people who know doodly nothing about trucks or trucking. My last job was the same: owner inherited the company from her uncle who started it and the blonde bimbo cannot even spell "truck". But she calls all the shots for a 500 truck fleet... yeah, she does... used to be a pretty good company... but it's about screwed up now.... owner making butt loads of money, but the drivers are not... and all the long term drivers they had are leaving... some had been with the company over 20 years and finally quit because of all the new mismanagement...

So, let me get this correct... you know nothing about the trucking industry, want to own the trucks, not have any responsibility, and get paid monthly for doing nothing???

I agree, sell the trucks now before you lose your backside... Even if it's at a loss... You will be saving money in the long haul.

Or, if you do figure it out, patent it, tell the rest of us how to do it, and collect royalties.

    Good Luck,
    MD

Thanks for your replies guys! I had some money so bought two trucks in 2014 and now my driver keeps calling me when I am on my job. So I was thinking to sell those trucks. It's just too much headache. But one of my friend told me that companies can actually take care of my trucks and pay me monthly. I have my own driver.
