Glad to hear most of you had a Merry Christmas. Hope you have a happy new year and are blessed with good loads, good miles, good health (scott)(and everyone), and loads of money as well.
It was great having George home for Christmas. Guess one can't have it all, though....disappointed he wasn't able to be home new year's eve. Be safe and take care!

Welcome New Trucker7. As jaso said it depends on the trainer and the trainee. It is always the luck of the draw with TransAm on getting a good trainer or one that is not so good. The King's trainer made sure that the King put in his time driving, and then a at times the trainer would knock out a few extra hours......but never with either one of them having to sleep while the truck was moving. In this case, the upside to TransAm is that the training period is VERY short.....a matter of days, not weeks.
The driver facing cameras have been a matter of contention from day one. There is a lot of potential within the industry for abuse.....however, to my knowledge, not one of the TransAm drivers as ever had an issue concerning the driver facing camera.scottlav46 Thanks this. -
Do they record 24/7 like I have read some other companies do or are they only "on" if something happens? Or are they are only recording when the truck is moving something like that? Also I assume it records audio also but again is this only when the truck is moving or is everything that is said in the truck recorded?scottlav46 Thanks this.

The camera records 8 second segments but if no event occurs then it discarded and a new 8 second segments is recorded but again discarded if no event like hard breaking, hard swerve, bumping a dock hard and the like. In othe words they just record events that trigger the camera to go.off.

Well got a new load to Dallas from QVC Rocky Mount NC so I guess my company recognizes the effort I have been putting in and I got my good trip after all. I leave in the late morning. Nite Nite.

Sounds reasonable enough just wanted to make sure it wasn't one of those streaming 24/7 type camera setups.

No, I don't mind the cameras. I scratch what I want, when I want. Pick my nose too. These cameras will free you from blame if there is an accident. It will give you your day in court. Trucking companies are using them to reduce their liability and prove who was at fault. I am glad to have them. If you are not guilty, that will be proven. If you are, it will prove that too. Companies have the right to protect its equipment, cargo, and drivers. Yes, in that order. Hey you can always buy your own truck, get your own authority, pay your own truck. At that point, wouldn't you consider installing your own camera??

I always covered mine up when I went into the sleeper berth. Like George said it will protect you if you ever need it. Just a little example. We all have smart phones let's say you have multiple pages open and forgot to close one if your in an accident the first thing cops look at is your phone record if they see your phone was on line with an open page your guilty but with that camera it will show you just forgot to close that window.HometimeQueen Thanks this.

In Salina, Ks. Waiting till tomorrow for my load. Going to driving in circles the next few days. To Wi. and back. LOL. I'll get real familiar with this route.
Last night's delivery was like trying to find a secret door. Same building 4 companies no signs for shipping receiving. I knew if I went in enough doors I would get the right one eventually.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
In Texarkana AR. Tried to park on the Texas side but the Welcome Center and the Loves in Leary were full. Made it back over the Arkansas line and found a spot at Road Runners exit 2. Did it with 3 minutes left on my drive clock. The little places always save me down here. Rather be lucky than good. Deuces.
