Hello.
I currently work in the oilfield as an equipment operator. I've had my cdl for 5 yrs with hazmat & tanker and have hauled the heavy equipment.
Problem is the oilfield is in a downturn again. No big surprise. A layoff is very possible in my future.
Looking for options to make similar or better money in trucking.
I am single and have no young children. I am used to working 16 hrs per day and feel out of place and bored when I'm at home. Would much rather be working than be at home.
I have been looking at Trimac & Johnsrud for hauling hazmat tanker loads.
Just looking for advice and guidance because I can't afford to make a mistake and stumble at this stage in my life.
Thanks
Looking for advice

There's a couple of OTR Trimac drivers that post on here that make $100K+ per year. They're on the Elite Fleet.
Pigbacon Thanks this. -
Unfortunately not high enough yet.

I'm in the same situation now. I haul heavy equipment with dot guidelines which apply to me.
My field also has a sky high turnover rate. -
I meant I don't need to go into it without getting some insight from people who are seasoned professionals. I don't want to make a mistake of working for the wrong company.

Hey Pigbacon,
Have you considered construction, OTR won't give you the pay you're used to and Hazmat is like wearing a bullseye in hunting season the way I see it. Doesn't seem to pay any better either. -
Trimac says no opportunities available for elite fleet near me at this time.
Live in NW Arkansas. Any other options? -
