It's not a starter company per se; it's a well established company that used to require a year experience. They've just fallen prey to the lack of highly qualified drivers so had to lower the bar.

And one that needs to manage their driver pay to maintain their forecasted financial performance.
-
But that is true of any company with Labor Costs... Not just trucking companies... Labor is a cost input just like equipment, fuel, insurance, repairs, etc.... All costs to be managed to a standard or budget.
-
Yep, that's true, but they are limited in what they can pay and still compete with all of the reefer companies in their segment. Prime, Central are cost competitive firms - it's getting crowded in this segment!
-
To me its a starter for the same reason the pay is low and top pay is not so great.

When you were with the trainer for the 7 weeks was it team driving for any portion of it?
-
No it was not i drove about 7 hours the first weeks and the last 2 weeks i did all the driving like if i was solo.
-
So you only drove 7 hours each day the first couple weeks and the rest of the day he drove and you sat in the passenger seat? Then the last 2 weeks you drove as if you were solo and he did no driving during the day?
-
The first 2 days i observed in the passanger seat and then on the third day i started to drive 7 hours and then he would drive a cuple more. We would park for the night and i would begin in the morning and after 5 weeks he would stay in the sleeper unless i needed him.
