looking at trading my 2011 Kenworth in. Undecided on buying a pre emission cat c15 or going newer. Mechanic at peterbilt told me that the newer cummins isx 2350 engines are doing a lot better compared to the first SCR engines that came out. Just wanted your guys advice.
Need help. Cummins ISX 2350 or pre emission Cat C15

What do you mean by pre emission c15? 2003 and older or an acert? Acert are not pre emission just pre dpf and scr systems.
Fast04gt Thanks this. -
That's what I was referring to as pre emission. 2006,2007 model acert which I know has the egr valve but, not as bad as a nightmare as the dpf and scr engines
-
Cat has never put an egr valve on a engine for on highway. The acert engines aren't all that bad, we have less trouble with them than the newer dpf and scr engines. You may have some Iva issues and poor fuel mileage but other than that they are very sturdy as far as the internals go. Get a good tune in a c15 acert and you will be pretty happy.

pre 2007 c15 unless you are from golden state or plan to travel there
-
What in the world do you mean by pre 2007 c15? 2007 was the last good year.
-
most 2007's were 06 emissions. What he means is pre EPA07 Acert, meaning no DPF.
-
O6 emissions? Never heard of 06 emissions. It went 98,04,08.
-
06 model year of the engine, which was EPA04 emissions. The next step was 07, not 08, but they allowed any truck pre-orderdered in 2006 to have emissions legal for 2006, Meaning an EPA04 engine.Heavyd Thanks this.

Any recommendations on tuning?
