At my barn if a warehouse guy gets his cdl, he holds his union rank for vac excc.. but he would be low driver, you were hired as warehouse thats the only place seniority holds for job bids
Getsinyourblood, mountaingote and lagbrosdetmi Thank this. -
Yea seniority is all combined, so if 5 warehouse guys got their licence that have higher seniority than 5 current drivers, boom the drivers are screwed, which to me is ####in nuts. and the pay is only a 1 dollar difference, which is crazy. I mean yea it's a lot more physical, always got management watching you out of their little office window, but lot less responsibility. Show up and go home when done. you don't see that anywhere that warehouse makes as much as drivers do... And yea he already got his temps. No licence yet. Only experience he's got is moving equipment around in the lot

Well that sucks. We get paid the same as warehouse (bs imo) but it is known if i driver turns in his keys, he wont get them back, and he would be bottom man in the building. They have said they will not have power play games causing havoc in the trucks or warehouse based on senority. -
Just wait for the new guy,to get a few tickets, and take out a few items..then ask for a raise.
street beater Thanks this. -
I thought local work, was for drivers with some experience.I wouldnt put a recent cdl grad, into a city job, bumping multiple docks a day.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Yeah, but that ain't happened yet. Sounds like a bunch of company small talk. Stay there and make them force you off the truck.
-
Not that many companies out there with the characteristics you are after . If you really like your current job all that much, patiently wait. Another spot will open up sooner than you think. I hate to sound like a fortune cookie man but that's how it is.

With 12 other drivers someone will always be off a couple days or sick. Don't do anything drastic till you see it play out.
