You guys are making me blush.the ops claim shows no merit and is not mentally strong enough for this industry.a lot of female's think they should be catered and treated with the most gentlest of gloves.I prefer being treated as an equal.since I came off the road and went local, every company I have been the only female driver.yes I have heard some bad things but it's guy talk didn't bother me one but.guys flirted with me which I considered a compliment, means at my age I still got it lol.

Over the years I have worked in a few manufacturing places where I was ONE of TWO, or THE ONLY female on the shop floor; Its no different than trucking or any other job, you get treated with respect if you DO YOUR JOB and don't look for trouble. In 15 years I maybe came across a few pukes but honestly it WASNT the NORM. You choose to do your job without inviting drama or chaos, or your inviting trouble......MOST men do respect females that do a good job; the females that wanna play the girl card are the ones asking for disrespect, then cry when they get treated bad. The last shop I worked at, the female population to men was 3 to 1, sometimes 5 to 1 in certain parts of the plant (over 400 employees)....the dept I was stuck in was ALL FEMALES; now, I can get along with almost anyone, but I gotta say, these were the MEANEST,CRUELEST,NASTIEST people I have ever worked with in my life! Nothing but DRAMA, back stabbing, gossip, etc....reminded me of high school, and most of these gals were in their 50's! I kept my head down, did my job and hardly talked to anyone! I left that job after barely 2 years, for different reasons, but I'm just saying, women can be real b's when they want to (not saying Im perfect,lol)....but I would rather work with all males ANY DAY over females, and I am one!
Dave_in_AZ, lovespink, mountaingote and 3 others Thank this. -
So in other words, what you're basically saying is "pick your poison"?
Voodoo Pyg and Billy Manson Thank this. -
I do believe that is what's going on here. Most of us hate adversity on the job but we live on to keep doing them anyway. You're not going to be appreciated everywhere you go, but if you're in a job for the validation of others, then your heart isn't in the right place. I'm just kind of putting that out there.

I don't want to be treated as a woman. For one I'm not... tother I'm a professional driver. As such is how I choose to be treated. Well respected and well compensated.Voodoo Pyg Thanks this.

I have similar views about women in combat roles. If you can keep up to identical standards, more power to you. However, don't expect extra latrine time to do your hair and makeup.
Road Jouster Thanks this. -
That's my feeling as well.
I don't see race or gender in my co-workers. Either they can do the job, or they can't.
