It is okay. I am on my way there also. Delivery at 2200 on Sunday. All of 800 miles away and 2 days to get there. Here in Prescott, Arkansas. Not the t/a. Thanks to the planners and my dm not caring, a nice 1k miles for 5 days. Days are numbered.

The North 40 Truck stop in TN. One of my favorite stops. The buffet is great since home cooking. Long day of rain from start to finish and the weather map shows that it is all the way east. Dealing with 4 wheelers coming into Little Rock was such a joy and then Memphis. Lets sit in the middle lane and go 50mph.

Trip from Dumas to Lancaster was mostly uneventful. Houston tomorrow, then down for a day since I have to visit teh bank Monday morning.

Laredo, TX... still.
2 days in the shop with my PTA set for 0600 this morning, but nothing moving over the weekend.
I finally got a pplan at around 1900. Pick up here and drop a few miles away on Monday by noon.
So I'll be sitting all day tomorrow as well.
Not unlike dozens of other drivers here I suppose. Bobtail parking is pretty full.
I wasn't about to turn it down. I didn't want to be put at the bottom of the list, and if I'm lucky I'll have a load out of here on Monday.
I hope they don't give me a problem when I head out the gate tomorrow for a Walmart run. I am totally out of food and supplies, and this place has squat for food.
These past couple weeks have been totally frustrating. -
Stopped at the Loves in Erick, OK for some coffee around noon. 40 across the panhandle a cluster this morning ... ice and wrecks. The class 8 tow trucks were lurking around like buzzards over the Seringeti.
Got to the OKC terminal about 1430 and signed the paperwork to become a company driver.fr8monkey Thanks this. -

I could be wrong, but the lease operators seem to get the short end very often.
At least that is how it sounds.
At the very best, it seems that L/O's can make more money than company drivers only in the best of times.
I hear more complaints from L/O's about getting home on time, or having to BT a hundred miles or more to do it, while I seldom have a problem.
There is all the extra paperwork, the worry about fixing things, down time vs. truck payments...
Many things.
I am here in Laredo with nothing to do, as are many drivers both company and L/O or O/O.
They are really stressing because they have no miles to pay that payment next week, while I am just concerned about getting to a Walmart tomorrow to get some food in my truck.
Heck, next pay check is the bonus check. So even with only 500 miles last week I have a (net, after child support and taxes and insurance) $700 pay check.
I could imagine that many L/O drivers will be short by that much. -
Glad that you are able to give that "big smile"! The things dentists can do these days is mindboggling!
