I have done both routes, 59 is a little shorter, but I always made better time taking ,10 to 35. Just my preference.

You could make a thousand wrong turns and still not end up in mehico. San Antonio is about 150 mi from the border. Depending on your time, 10/35 if your short, more truck stops. 59 any other time, less traffic.

I saw that with my own two eyes. Blew my mind. I was in a rest area outside Austin, Texas. I was parked drinking a coffee. A guy with the same roof pulled in next to me. I kept cleaning my truck and wasn't paying attention to much else, sat back down in my seat. Cought something out of the corner of my eye.

I looked over to my left and two,14 or 15 year old little Mexican kids slowly climbed off his frame rails, onto the ground. I could not believe what I was seeing. Then the kids bolted towards the back of the rest area by some big rain/storm drains.

I ran over to the guys truck and told him what happened. He had no idea. We went around to the back of his truck and climbed up on the cat walk. Sure enough, sneaker prints and hand prints all over that little void where the air dam is.

The driver never felt them moving around up there. He said they were up there for at least 4 hours. Thats when he last stopped for a coffee.41 degrees outside.

Yeah, some of the company drivers are micro managed to death as far as routing/fuel goes. I always avoid crowded areas with tons of traffic, if I can. My company let's us do our thing and we all like it that way. Keep the shinny side up and your good to go as far as my company is concerned. Lol
