oilfield tanker now going into otr hopper bottom any advice

    Been mostly 100 mile radius in oil patch now going into otr for the first time ,y'all got any tips for a new hopper bottom driver?

    Good luck with the new job! I am going to be doing the same starting next week. I posted a similar ad and haven't gotten any feedback yet. Possibly a good thing, as maybe they are just to busy.

    Hooper rates are in the toilet right now. Grain loads are really cheap, and there really isn't a lot if movement this time if year.

    Oh boy ,what did I get myself into?? Recruiters lie!!!! Lol . I start orientation tomorrow .

    Double check to make sure your gates are closed before you load.
    Keep your tarps closed when going down the highway empty to help with fuel economy.
    If you have to sweep out, do it in an approved location or use something to catch it in. Don't just dump it on the side of the road or in a parking lot.
    Bring something to entertain yourself, line ups can be quite long some days.
    If you just hauled fertilizer, most places want it washed out with a receipt if you're about to load food grade product,
    Did I say make sure your gates are closed before loading?
