Before anyone comes to Eagle, please read the thread, most questions being asked are answered in the thread. Can u make money at Eagle?, yes u can, it just depends on how u choose your loads, I was with them here recently but due to death in family, I will be running close to home.

I've been thinking about going over to eagle, but this thread really make you reconsider your options!!!!!! But the big question is, are things actually changing for the better as they move on, or is it the same old bs????? The company salesman really talk a good game, but it's the typical co line. I understand the starting pains to begin with, but they are at the year mark, so there should be some signs of improvement! !!!!

They're long over the year mark. I think it began around September 2013. Some of us came to Eagle with a plan, and a good relationship with brokers. My personal experience was either the ones I knew couldn't get approved, or when/if they did couldn't get rate cons signed in either a timely manner or at all. Not to mention trying to shove cheap freight down my throat after every delivery and actually getting upset when I told them I have found my own freight. Of course you mileage may vary. I was out of the Knoxville terminal. The business tactics down there were abhorrent to say the least.

Eagle had/has such potential. Too many office personnel with the MegaCarrier mentality though. I've said on their FB page and on here many months ago. It's a reason why companies like Landstar have 9,000 tractors. You can't have an all O/O L/O based business model and try to run it like Celadon/TMC. Most of us never wanted to be 'dispatched'.

I may have missed it, but what did you end up doing?
Ya, the more I've read, I'm thinking that I'm not doing so bad where I'm at. The company I'm with now has a rental deal with penske. I pay 725 a week plus 10cpm, them 95 a week to the company for the nickel and dime stuff. Then my fuel, and I get 82% don't have to get my own loads, usually a good between 1.60 and 2.00 a mile to trk. Only maintenance I have to worry about is if something happens out of the normal wear and tear.

Been a company driver for awhile now still saving towards my own tractor. I've been keeping my ear to the ground though in hopes I can find another lease like I had at ATS (Anderson Trucking Service). Made good money over there till rates got reduced after the kids took over. Where you're at now doesn't sound like a bad deal so long as the rates are good.

That's just it!!! At least here, u know that your just renting, no misconception. I can say the my dm does his best on the loads, he pretty much won't take one for less than 1.50 a loaded mile. But he doesn't seem to get tolls figured in with the rate most of the time. I've often wondered about them undercutting my rate, never get to see conf.
But the dm's are paid percentage as well, so it's their best interest to get good loads. But tend to be little pushy!!! On paper, not computer.
I generally bring hm 12 to 18 a wk, have spiked to 26 a few times, just happened to get real good runs though.
