thrust bushings

If you are asking about the thrust washers in the rear ends, spinning the wheels a lot in mud and dirt, also snow could cause wear on the washers.

 

Are you talking about the thrust bearings in the engine that keep the crankshaft centered?

If so, I have been told by several people that the C-12 Cats are especially prone to premature wear of thrust bearings when the engine is coupled to a Meritor 12 spd automatic.

The reason being is that the Meritor depresses the clutch every shift, putting stress on the thrust bearing, whereas the Eaton Fuller floats the gears after initial start off.

I broke mine while I got stuck on some loose sand, Symtoms include irregular rev's usually around 16-1700 RPM. So I am in the process, of swapping them out.
