Too many trucks today are produced like chicklets. I assume you're talking about "owner-operator, no holds barred truck" Vs a "fleet truck"?

Once you get away from the truly mass produced models (a lot of them today), I suspect, quality control may increase somewhat, but I don't think anybody makes a truly "flawless" truck today.

The typical fleet Freightliner Cascadia is probably the "best" in terms of quality control in build, and engine performance : to cost ratio. But like was mentioned, you'll get a few dozen different opinions.

You need to specify owner-operator spec or fleet spec. But the Kenworths and Peterbilts recent attempt to compete with Freightliner are about a year away from being completed in terms of "are they going to re-order these?" so we'll see in about 6-12 months who they return to in terms of mass purchase, for next the power cycle.

I liked Volvos for the fit and finish of their cabs. They have some electrical issues though. Probably Peterbilts and Freightliners are the most reliable.

I had a brand new Cascadia...it was having problems and falling apart inside the cab with only 36k on the odometer...breaks making noises and regen problems..
Had a 780 Volvo,it was a solid built truck, great ride and and great storage and bunk.
Still love the older KW and Peterbilt too....Nothing rides like a big hood and stretched wheelbase! A REAL truck!

    Old trucks:
A LOT into how truck was ordered (specified) and how owner took care of it.
    New trucks:
I would rather buy glider if I have to and again, specified right.
