i recently started a run to laredo tx and being kind of an old truck geek its kinda cool seeing these old trucks still on the road .
most are from mexico and look beat up but some look really good too .
still lots of ex wal mart and jb hunt international 9600s around down there and trailers from lots of us fleets .
i even found an old clark bros. fld 120 out of norfolk , nebr the other day .

It' amazing the number of old cabovers on the road these days. I recently saw a two story Ford painted up and looking good. Some guys are definitely looking for something without the concern for fuel mileage. I for one am glad of it.

Straight Stacks, MJ1657 and Al. Roper Thank this.

Hawaii is the land where all old cabover day cabs come to die, so to speak. Since there's so much tight backing over here, they are valuable and well kept. Petes, KW's and FL....

Cabovers still have a strong market in Mexico. M.A.N. and Scania sell their brand new cabover trucks in Mexico. Volvo doesn't offer the FH and FM cabovers, it's Mexican lineup is the same as Canada and the US.

I went to Jalisco Mexico in 2014 (central Mexico). Saw all sorts of trucks there; primarily all kinds of old American trucks along with a few newer trucks here and there and many Latin American style class b trucks.

You guys would hate trucking there, even aside from the cartels and language barrier. Most of the highways that I rode on had wide shoulders where the trucks would drive to leave room for cars to pass by. Pretty slow driving.

A friend of mine who has an Argosy similar to the avatar just purchased a 1993 FLA 104 Freightliner cabover in fair condition, just so if needed he can get around the coming ELD requirements. I wonder how much of that is really going to happen.
