^^ Depends on the Contractor you work for..There are so many of them out there and they also have those Wild runs

When I lived in Florida the run going from Orlando to Colton was $1550 for each driver round trip..They usually advertise on Craigslist or Indeed.

It was $1.31 per mile base pay back in 2015.. Don't know what the fuel surcharge was or the extra cent per miles for being out of Orlando ..I could be wrong but I believe they also had as sliding pay scale that would pay more cpm for the shorter run

Last I heard was 1.77 incl FSC out of Columbus. Think -don't quote me- 1.44 of that was linehaul. Those numbers were for 2015.

15 years ago, I did linehaul for FedEx Ground..... (still have the black shirts with green and blue, LoL) ... it was my 2nd gig OTR; first was USATruck (yuck.) The contractor was Harold Clemmons here in Ohio, and it WAS team. We went from Columbus to Sacramento and back; out M-F and home weekends. The $ was almost $800/week TAKE HOME with W-2 back then. Pretty #### good for a "newer" driver. Problem was, I just could NOT live with Bobby (teamie.) He didn't like the free showers from the Peelot's so he waited until the "weekends" to get his; and CIGAR smoke is repulsive. I don't even smoke cigs; the wife smokes enough for BOTH of us. And other idiosyncrasies like his smacking and slurping while chewing . . gum or otherwise.

I hung in for a year; probably the longest one in my career ( close second was Transport America ) . . . I've been fortunate enough to be local the last six; hauling tanks (non Haz, but I've got that and my TWIC also, JIC..) and OD in the off-season; and am a "stand-in" for a local corrugated hauler; home every am in my own bed with my family, making really good $ for a NON o/o.

For me, the $ was good, but teaming is iffy. Had the wife been driving back THEN, we might've stuck with it. My contractor was an AWESOME guy; we still keep in touch. Free uniforms (shirts, hats, jackets, dickies/ slacks) was nice also.

And, back then... there weren't so many FED/UPS and/or FedWrecks around. Never saw a ONE.

GOOD luck, can be a GREAT gig under the right conditions, just like everything out here. A lot of this career is what you make it, and digging in the deep-dark depths of one's memory to the "good ole' days" of this life we chose, keeps me keeping on.

    Be safe, Drivers.
