So I got orientation at a new company in about 3 weeks...
and im having a root canal tomorrow, im not sure if they will be prescribing me painkillers for this for a few days after or not, but if they do, what is the procedure I need to follow to show the company it was for a legitimate reason? is the prescription itself enough or do I need some kind of letter...?

When you go for a physical you disclose ALL medications you are using (even OTC).. the drug screens, if you test hot, the MRO will be in touch.
gentleroger and Crossroads Thank this. -
These companies look for any reason to disqualify you now days. Maybe dont take the pain meds if at all possible.

Always have your prescription bottle with you with the proper pills in the prescription bottle and that is all that is required

Spoke to the dentist they said there isn't any drugs involved anyway besides the numbing stuff during the operation so no worries. thanks guys.

Don't over think this. Don't let the upcoming UA or hair test keep you from taking a prescribed medicine. Do make sure you let the person know that's starting the chain of custody form all medications you are now or have been taking in the last 30 to 45 days. If there is a problem of a positive the MRO will examine the form and call you if needed. Most of the time if the prescription is listed on the chain of custody form the MRO will just send a negative report back to the carrier. Please don't over think any of this.
