i know a lot of people want to sit there and whine about different things about driving but i have noticed that a lot of problems they have problems with there trucks and things. Where i come from if you can take five minutes and fix something yourself and its fairly cheap to fix then freaking fix it. Yea i know that its not your truck but they do give you a freaking pay check every week. THEY don't have to employ you . So stop complaining about stupid crap and just drive its not that freaking hard i have done A LOT harder jobs out there and got payed a lot less for it. 42,000 is double what i made made before working 50 to 60 hours working construction. I'm not saying that driving truck is not hard but just come on people we are grown ups here lets act our age here and just get the job done here. If they ask you do something illegal here just no because its your butt not there's . Look at this way they won't pay the fine if you get caught, and if you lose your cdl's who will take care of your family. So lets do the right thing and keep it legal
59halfstep Thanks this. -
If you manage your time, you can do 45k+ with TMC in your first year, as long as you keep that drivers side door closed you should have no problem. I did 60.

And do you answer anything?? Don't care who you work/ed for, probably made up anyways....but please explain to me and others, where one can go, fresh out of school, your license is still warm from being printed, and get on with a company making BETTER than $030cpm??
Answer just that one simple question. Show me ONE company, who will hire a fresh out of class student driver, with ZERO miles under his belt, and get on making more than 30cpm.
I'm willing to bet you can't do it. You seem to always have the answers, so i will be looking forward to your response. -
TMC's percentage pay. It can earn you the equivelant of between .40 cents to .50 cents per mile. All dependes on what percentage you are.

Beat me too it, Terry. In fact, ever sense uncle harold has taken over again, i've actually been averaging .55 CPM. I hauled a load from southern chicago to northern chicago a few weeks ago (22 miles) paid me 280 bucks.

I bet your wrong! I think maverick is 38 cpm for a newbie...... and that is just 1 co.
I just went and looked it up. Depends on div from 34-41 cpm -
Good information, too bad Timmy couldnt do it. besides, i cannot go with TMC because they require you to show up to their training class already with a Class A CDL. Seeing how i dont have the $4,000 to put myself thru a class, i will end up having to go thru a companys training....which i dont have a problem with. Getting a CDL permit, now that is a different story. Both TMC and Werner require you to have the CDL license already before going to their 'training'.

You are giving up too soon. There are several programs you can participate in that will pay for the full cost. Their names don't come to mind because I didn't use them, I was unaware. Your state will pay for the cost of retraining you for the trucking profession. Maybe someone else will come along with more information than I can provide. In fact I think read something about this in one of the TMC threads. Your call.
