We frequently haul some kubota UTV's that have the triangle on the back and have heard the same thing. We cut some old mudflaps up to be just a little bigger than the triangles and drilled holes in the mud flaps near the edges and just zip tie them on over the triangle. Works great and they go on and off really quick.

They showed a picture of a school bus on a wheel lift of a heavy wrecker. The straps they were using they said were rated 12k. I didnt catch if that was the actual WLL rating or just a rating. Did not book mark it,.. sorry.
I've looked for a few hours and have yet to find the same wheel straps that I have now.
May end up taking a load to Larado just to buy 8 more of these straps. Mine are showing some age but over all still in decent usable condition.
I cant be the only one on TTR who has hauled vans out of the Swift yard in Larado??

Just filled out carrier info for swift to pull those sprinter vans outta there. Have yet to get any real numbers from them. But speaking with other drivers it pays them good and there are tons of those vans in their yard to ship. Trying to get back down there to Laredo and speak face to face with them And secure my first load outta there. I tried to pm you but don't have enough posts it's says. Any current insight will be appreciated -
Did you ask them if they've been out on the road with the Crazy Ivan's in the Volvo's? We all need slow moving triangles unless your driving an Illinois registered Volvo wearing an Adidas track suit and flip-flops speaking some dialect of Russian!Last edited: Jan 23, 2016
PeteyFixAll, Chewy352, Hurst and 1 other person Thank this. -
There is really nothing to it. You get in line for the loading dock. They come ask if you have wheel straps or not. They load you. No chains permitted,.. if you dont have wheel straps they will provide them for you. At your cost of course. IIRC they only charged me $25 per strap for 8 of them. May have been as much as $30 - $35,.. dont hold the price against me,.. I have trouble remembering the loads I did last week much less 2 yrs ago.

LOL
Hey now,.. my carrier is Lithuanian.
But,.. sadly the stereotype is true,.. track suit,.. with sandals and black socks! Get it right! He likes Sketchers or the old Converse Chuck Taylors. I tease him about his wardrobe all the time.
He doesnt do the Volvos. He admitted that they cost him too much money when he first started. He owns Coronado gliders and just bought his first KW T880 last summer. He is really proud of that truck.
When ever you see one of the Ivans in person and he upset you,.. say 'Suka' to him. Its not a word to make him want to fight,.. but its bad enough.

That is a dang reasonable price. The ones I am looking at $50-$60 each. Not a huge deal if someone was buying one but if you are buying 8-10 (couple spares in case one gets damaged) that comes to $250 or $350 at what you paid vs $5-600.

Our harvest run convoy got dinged for uncovered smv emblems once upon a time. We was told to " get em coverd" while the boss went in to pay extortion. He about had a heart attack when he came back out and found a penthouse centerfold taped over his load.PeteyFixAll, macavoy, MJ1657 and 2 others Thank this.

They had crates full of them,.. thousands of these straps in plastic bags. Much like getting new bungee out of the plastic bags,.. the wheel straps were equally as bothersome.

LOL
I grabbed some printer paper and purposely used scotch tape knowing it would only stay long enough to get out of site of the POE.
