Could have been my partner or maybe my memory is screwy but I still think it's funny. I was close to there regardless.

I run nothing but west and there's plenty of quiet places to park on 40 and 80. Out east it's a completely different story and I don't miss it at all...
White_Knuckle_Newbie Thanks this. -
When possible, shippers/receivers are usually not bad. As a flatbedder, reefers aren't an issue there for me.
Avoid major truck stops unless you're desperate for the free shower.
Funny how drivers flock to those like flies, sandwiched in like sardines..... yet half of them don't ever set foot outside their truck once stopped. I don't see the point in that. I've seen people cirlce those places 3-4 times before making up their own spot while the local joint next exit south is 3/4ths empty.
Some people's kids.
Mom and pops, especially if there are dark, unlit spots that some might avoid. Use discretion for your own safety. -
Yeah parked in the corner as Fars as I can from the building and within an hour I'll have trucks all around.

Hahahahahaha.... Good luck on that one driver. Welcome to truck driving. I always thought that since the reefer drivers were used to sleeping with noise anyway that they should all be parked in a designated spot far away from the other trucks. Some truck stops do have quiet zones but you can be sure that they will charge you for it.

Oh I'm sure they do. But in the last few months I've got accustom to ambient noise. And modern refers are muffled quite well. Only occasionally do I get annoyed by some smock who thinks his custom 8" stacks sound so cool that everyone the the lot wants to hear his engine idle at 1,000 rpm all night. Lol
