It's funny that in alot of other places it's just another day in winter. But I guess of these places aren't prepared for that kind of snow because they never get that much.

I think the seer number f people that live in the area this storm affected makes a greater impact than the amount of snow that fell. More fools on the road in a storm makes it much worse.

And crappy equipment to deal with the snow doesn't help either....
I wonder what their paying for dump trucks in DC saw video on tv , lots of trucks hauling snow..... -
Well speaking for where I live, they've only got 2 sand/salt trucks. We deal with mostly 20's and 30's all winter, hardly any snow, lil bit of ice. When it hits hard, it generally gets ahead and they don't catch up. Not to mention I live just west of one of the major N/S routes(65), so as stated sheer volume of traffic also comes into play. It sucks when its bad, but they're not gonna invest a lit of money in equipment that only gets used every couple of years. Least that's what one of the county commissioners told me.

I came through DC today on my way to Potsville, PA. Between Richmond and DC I saw at least 5 snow plows buried at the side of the road where they either broke down or got stuck. Crappy equipment indeed.

Sorry, didn't even realize I was bragging. Had a hot load with a new customer Saturday morning. Back roads in the hills that dont get sunlight let alone a plow. It was a little dicey if thats ok to say. Sitting in Denver Sunday night so everything is peachy.
