If you read through this site enough, you may find the post where someone saw a trucker pinching a loaf under his trailer.

I find this site highly educational.

I tried to shower every time I got fuel. I did not succeed every time, but I never went much past 48 hours without stopping for a shower. I spent a lot of time sitting at places like Walmart DC's. I would slip a change of underwear, some baby wipes and a face cloth into a small bag and go into the restroom and take a very quick sink bath. Never took more then 3 or 4 minutes and when I got back to my truck I changed clothes. I have always been of the opinion there is no excuse to be a stinker!

Happened to me at Sierra Sid's back in the '80's. Got up from an 8 hour break, was doing a walk-around and WTF? Ugh. What was seen cannot be unseen.

The above story is why I would some time wear rubber over boots when I did a drop and hook at night. If I did step in feces be it human or dog I just took them off bungee corded them on my catwalk and washed them off my next chance in such a way as to not create a smell for others. In my driving career I think I might have stepped in feces like this 2 times.

I actually ruined a pair of shoes one night in Kansas. I knew the dead animal was close but as I was doing my pre-trip on the trailer I stepped right into a dead cat. I was telling a friend about this and he told me about using rubber over shoes.

I stepped in human crap twice last year. Once at a DC that had about 20 piles of it between trailers. Absolutely disgusting. The last time was right next to my truck. The dude must have just climbed out of his truck and dumped right there.

For showers, carry a big bowl, towels, a body wash that doesn't leave a film on your skin and go to town. You can wash really well with just what's in the bowl. If you don't do a full body wash then at least your butt, junk, feet and pits. There is nothing more embarassing to come into a customer or a store and you smell the slob before you even see them.
